Upon an inspection of my 2015 Ford Expedition 3.5L EcoBoost my mechanic noticed that my truck's tailpipe and resonator were hanging unsupported due to a broken bracket. My particular Expedition (the 2015) has a very low slung tailpipe that I guess came about during a engineering or parts shortage at Ford. As I use my truck to tow my camper trailer on rough dirt roads in Colorado mountain passes each year it's a wonder the tailpipe and resonator were not torn completely off. In any event I asked both my mechanic and the local Ford dealer if they could remove the resonator/tail pipe and install a tailpipe closer to the bottom of the truck's chassis (and out of harms way) and both said that was something they could not accomplish, however, my mechanic did recommend that I take my truck to Ripley's Total Car Care. He said that if they can't do it, nobody can. As things turned out, my mechanic sure pointed me in the right direction. I simply walked into the shop around 7:30 in the morning, spoke to the mechanic on duty and explained my problem. He explained what he would do and how long it would take (about 3 hours). Long story short, Ripley's moved the tailpipe up so that I no longer need worry about rough dirt roads knocking it off. Thank you Ripley's for an expedient, professional and reasonably priced job.
