I recently had Ripley's do a pre-purchase inspection for a vehicle I was interested in buying. I was flying in from out of state for the purchase. I told them that the vehicle had an accident and they told me they'd check for everything / any damage. They took pics of some panel damage on one side but completely missed some damage above the wheel on the other side. Also their report told me tires were in good in condition/wear. The tires have 3-4/32 tread remaining and the sidewall condition is so bad, many of the spec letters are illegible. These 2 things will cost me about $1000 to fix/replace. They were nice to deal with, but I would not recommend based on the aforementioned and also because their fee for this service was on the higher side.
We appreciate your feedback... we always strive to offer honest and ethical recommendations. The technician mentioned his tire recommendation was based off of whether would pass inspection or not. I don't see a tire depth on the ticket but the pictures sent do show they are low.
